Transport Planning Support

AB Texel UK are a large, well-established agricultural bulk transport company who are currently recruiting for a Transport Planning Support colleague to join our team.

What shift are you going to do?
Monday to Friday 0730 – 1700, weekends/on call as required.

Salary: £28,100 - £29,500 per annum

As Transport Planning Support you will be responsible for assisting with planning and executing driver routes according to load, briefing and debriefing drivers as well as working on a reactive basis, resolving any issues that arise during the shift.

You will also be required to carry out the following (this list is not exhaustive):

  • Assisting in the day-to-day planning of 100 vehicles and trailers.
  • Learning each role within the planning function and assisting in the various roles when required
  • Administrative duties such as entering jobs onto the planning system, entering driver availability onto the system, finding and entering weight details from drivers, and other tasks associated with vehicle planning
  • Within a team consisting of 2 customer service personnel and 4 planners, the right candidate will look to cover holidays for all positions
  • Liaising with all departments within the business
  • Liaising with customers for various details such as ETA's, load details etc
  • Communicating with drivers for various reasons by telephone and or the communicator app within the planning system.

 

Who are you?

If you have a transport or customer service background, with attention to detail, strong communication skills and a proven track record of delivering a high level of customer service, you could be the person we're looking for, to join our growing team.

Ideally you would have:

  • Previous experience within a transport office, with a good understanding of Transport planning.
  • Good geographical knowledge of the UK.
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
  • IT literate
  • Attention to detail
  • You can work well as part of a team and/or on your own initiative.
  • Strong organisational skills
  • The ability to prioritise, multitask and manage your workload.
